How it works

From upload to quantity sheet.

Five stages, the same for every job. You always know what we're doing, when you'll get it, and what we assumed.

  1. 1

    You upload the drawings

Create a job, add your PDF, DWG or DXF files and tick the trades you want measured. Add the finish schedule, legends and door schedule if they are separate files.

Tell us anything we should leave out, like areas by others or a phase that is not in the tender.

    You receive

A job number and a receipt by email.

  2. 2

    We confirm the scope

Within 2 working hours we open every file, check the scale and count the sheets to be measured. If a drawing has no scale, a missing legend or two revisions of the same sheet, we ask before starting.

You get the confirmed sheet count, the trades and the delivery time. On pay-per-project jobs this is also your quote.

    You receive

Scope confirmation with sheet count and delivery time.

  3. 3

    We measure

Every item is measured from the drawing and marked on it, coloured by trade. Areas and lengths are taken to wall centrelines unless the drawings or your notes say otherwise.

CAD files are measured from the geometry itself. Vector PDFs are measured from their linework. Scanned PDFs are calibrated against a known dimension first.

    You receive

    Draft quantities and markup.

  4. 4

    Someone else checks it

A second person compares the totals against the legends, schedules and room areas, and spot-checks the markup sheet by sheet. Anything that does not add up goes back to be fixed.

Anything the drawings don't answer is written down as a query.

    You receive

    Checked quantities, notes and queries.

  5. 5

    You download and price

The job page has the Excel quantity sheet, the marked-up PDF and the notes. You get an email when they are ready.

Reply in the job thread with questions. If drawings change, upload the new revision and request an update.

    You receive

Quantity sheet, marked-up drawings, notes and queries.

Turnaround

When the clock starts and stops.

Delivery time counts from scope confirmation, in working hours (Sunday to Thursday, 9:00–18:00 (GMT+3)). Jobs over 40 sheets get their own delivery time with the confirmation.

Preparing files

Which files give the best result.

Any of these work. The closer the file is to the original CAD, the fewer queries you get back.

DWG / DXF

Best

Measured from the geometry. Send the layouts you want measured, with xrefs bound or included.

Vector PDF

Very good

Exported from CAD, with selectable lines. Measured from the linework at the drawing scale.

Scanned PDF

Accepted

Calibrated against a known dimension. Small details can be hard to read, so we list anything we can't confirm.

Revit

Later

Not accepted yet. Export sheets to PDF or DWG for now.

Have drawings ready?

Upload them now. We check every sheet and confirm the scope and delivery time within 2 working hours, before any work starts.
